A year ago, Sustain Micro Enterprise received funding from St. Martin’s Church, Walsall. We used the funds to start up a Goats project “Give a Goat” where 7 women and families received goats. The goat’s project was chosen among the projects because it is easy to take care of goats within the local communities and they can feed on the grass available within the communities. In addition, the goats can easily be sold as they have a ready market therefore in case of an emergency, a woman and her family can easily sell it off and earn income.
We are happy to report today that the goats’ project has grown with more goats reproducing and multiplying. A project which started with 7 goats now has reached to a total of 13 goats including the young ones. Women can now sell off the young ones in case of an emergency or when need arise.
We are very thankful to St. Martin’s Church, Walsall for the donation which helped us to establish the goats’ project which is enabling the vulnerable women to fight poverty.
