Shaminah is calm and reserved child and lives with her grandparents. She loves attending school but often cut short when she is sent back home for failure of paying fees. Her grandparents solely depend on farming as a source of their income which makes it difficult to support the child with basic needs.

Shaminah admires her teachers at school and dreams that one day she will become a teacher. However, she is afraid that she might not be able to complete her education due to limited income of her grandparents. She says that her prayer is that one day she finds someone to support her in school.

Shaminah enjoys jumping, singings and dancing. While at home, she helps her grandparents with garden work, cooking, fetching water and firewood.
