Elimirwa became the sole provider for her family after her husband died. But life got even worse for the widowed mother of six when she got paralyzed. She needed a way to become the breadwinner for her children. She had hopes and dreams for them that could not be realized without income.
“That’s when I heard about Sustain Micro Enterprise equipping poor women like me with business skills and empowerment,” she says. With a help of a small loan and business training, Elimirwa started a business selling fresh foods with a help of her older son.
Elimirwa is thankful that she can provide for her family. “Thanks to Sustain Micro Enterprise, the loans provided have greatly helped to keep my small food business moving ahead every day and without the loans; I cannot imagine how life would have been like”. “Because of the loan, my children have food to eat and I pay my medical bills,” she says. “They have clothes. Our family is happy.”
