Thanks to our Virtual Interns

When Covid 19 hit the world, travel across the globe was banned! This affected much of our work, donations and interns/volunteers who often travelled from the different parts of the world to come and support SustainME work and projects. You can’t imagine how the vulnerable women and families were negatively impacted. You can’t imagine how our impact was dragged backward. You can’t imagine how many women and families had their income streams shattered. All these imaginations happened within the blink of any eye!

As time moved by and covid was going no where after a series of lockdown, we realised that we had to learn to live with it and had to quickly switch to the new normal. And here the Virtual way of work was the answer. We are so thankful to our friend and partner the FSD Jinja for being so innovative and in the new normal support our cause and the women empowerment mission.

We are happy that through the help of FSD and 4 internship students (Refilwe, Sarah, Margot and Hanqueen), we have successful accomplished too much within the shortest time possible through our project entitled “Building Business Collaboration and Confidence among the vulnerable women”. Without your support, we wouldn’t have achieved this amazing impact, 22 vulnerable women empowered and this helped us to touch the lives of over 100 children. The project saw us provide business training to the women, introduction and apply the concept of business collaboration and execute the market day.

Thank you very much FSD team, Refilwe, Sarah, Margot and Hanqueen. We are forever grateful and we look forward to making sure that the project lives on to impact more lives of women, families and community at large.
